Volunteer Project Opportunities

  • Laprobe Afghans - Susan Hamarlund
    • Seven (7) inch squares (6 across, 6 to 7 down). These laprobes are made for veterans in wheelchairs. Yarn must be machine washable. Patterns available on CCS Yahoo list group.
  • Chemo Hats - Karolyn Simon
    • Soft yarns. Can Google for patterns.
  • Preemie Hats - Sandra Benward
    • Completed hats donated to Mad Hatters. Yarn needs to be machine washable.
  • Project Linus - Sheila Igoe
    • Afgans are donated locally to over 100 organizations. Premie/infant to teenager sizes are appreciated (15"X15" up to 50"X70"). Also, 7" squares are welcomed. Child friendly colors, washable fibers. Please watch the video at Sacramento Project Linus when you have a few minutes.
  • Circle Of Hope
    • Circle of Hope, Inc. has written that they are looking for prayer shawls and chemo caps to be donated. They serve clients in Northern Minnesota & Norther Wisconsin. Providing block grants to breast cancer patients in poverty and financial distress paying it directly to the provider. Circle of Hope is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no one is paid a salary. Prayer Shawls & Cloths will be sent out along with a poem.
